We aim to keep storage practical, welcoming and good value.
Boat storage
Current storage rates — effective from 1 April 2026.
We offer two straightforward storage options: Yard Storage and Indoor Shed Storage. For boats up to 2.5 metres wide, we charge by the boat’s length.

These rates apply to boats up to 2.5 metres wide. We can provide an individual quote for wider vessels.
Project storage by square metre
Projects come in all shapes and sizes. If you’re storing something other than a conventional boat, or need a particular area to work on a project, we can arrange storage by the square metre rather than by boat length.
Our monthly rates for project space are:

These square-metre rates are equivalent to the boat rates calculated on a 2.5-metre-wide space. We’ll agree the area needed for your project with you beforehand, subject to availability.
A few examples
6.0 m boat — Yard Storage: 6 × £11.50 = £69.00 per month
8.0 m boat — Indoor Shed Storage: 8 × £15.50 = £124.00 per month
10 m² project — Yard Storage: 10 × £4.60 = £46.00 per month
10 m² project — Indoor Shed Storage: 10 × £6.20 = £62.00 per month

Useful details
Rates effective from 1 April 2026. All storage prices shown are monthly. Boats up to 2.5 metres wide are normally charged per linear metre of boat length; project spaces can be charged per square metre of the area agreed with us. Wider vessels and unusual requirements are quoted individually.
VAT: Carriden Boatyard Ltd is not VAT-registered, so no VAT is added to these prices.
Rent is payable in advance, calculated per calendar month. There is a refundable £10 deposit for keys to the yard and sheds.
Use of the slipway is included for Carriden Boatyard customers. If your boat requires tractor assistance for launching or recovery, you must arrange this independently with a local contractor. Any tractor assistance is a separate service, and you are responsible for agreeing the cost and paying the contractor directly. Carriden Boatyard does not provide tractor assistance.

We normally review and increase our storage charges every two years. Reviews are guided primarily by changes in the Retail Prices Index (RPI). Please see our Terms & Conditions for full details.
