A place for boats, projects and people
More than a boatyard
A working, sociable place for curiosity, practical skills and people from all walks of life.
A boatyard for everyone
Carriden Boatyard is a place where experience, interests and backgrounds can be very different, but a willingness to get involved brings people together. You don’t have to arrive as an expert. You can be starting your first project, returning to an old passion or simply looking for a practical place to keep a boat.
We value a friendly, considerate atmosphere in which people can enjoy their interests and feel welcome.
Make, repair, restore
Look around Carriden Boatyard and you may find someone restoring a hull, building a small boat, woodworking, painting or tackling a mechanical problem. Independent trades and small businesses also contribute to the yard’s skills and activity.
The boatyard provides space and facilities, while individual owners and independent businesses undertake their own work.
The people make the place
As well as boats, Carriden Boatyard is about shared ideas, conversations and the satisfaction of a good day’s work. There’s room here for different abilities, ages and interests.
We’re building a photographic record of these everyday moments, including the projects, launches and unexpected things that give Carriden Boatyard its character.
